Lessons I've Learned...

Grace Cathedral in SF

I am no Yogi {I can barely touch the toes}, but I wanted to share with you some lessons learned from yesterday's yoga session at - Grace Cathedral. The theme last night was all around the topic of "suffering," and in lieu of the theme, our instructor, Darren Main, took several quotes from my favorite author, Paulo Coelho, and shared them throughout the class along with other thoughtful words of wisdom.
  1. "Smile and breathe"
  2. "No heart has ever suffered when it goes on search of its dreams"
  3. "The fear of suffering is worst than suffering itself"
  4. "There is no way for happiness, happiness is the way"
Hope you enjoyed them as much as me and have a bomb day!

Yoga on the Labyrinth

Last Friday, I was pulled into the office of my manager to be told that I was getting laid off. Two things raced through my mind. The first, "Seriously?" The second, "What will I do next?" I am not sure what is next, but I do know all things happen for a reason.

Like my dear yogi friend, Swami, once told me, "Breakdowns lead to breakthroughs." I agree! Right now, for me, it's all about enjoying life and indulging myself with new experiences and the things I love the most!

Last night opened my eyes to a brand new experience...it was yoga at Grace Cathedral. One of the comfest things I have ever done. There were peanuty {my mom's word for a person/people that are super nice} yoga instructors that came around to assist, a very talented harpist that played for us, and a special guest appearance by Joshua Roman {a famous cellist}.

Luckily, I brought my camera along to capture this fun little adventure...

A Few Of My Favorite Things...

Tonight I did a little date night by myself (diggy sushi place in the city) and finally got a chance to set my New Year's resolutions. In planning my future, my mind couldn't help by revert to the past.  So for this blog post, to kick start the New Year, I wanted to jot down a few of my fav things from 2012...just a little reminder of how great this past year really was.

1.  Quality time with my sister. Glad you are back Kristen, I missed you!

2.  Moved in with my best friend and boyfriend.  Although for the first couple of months we argued about putting down the toilet seat, we made a beautiful home together.  Love you drive.

3.  Lets go Giants! Thanks to Keas, I got to attend game 7 and catch the game of a lifetime. #BestTimeEver

4.  Krich tied the knot.  Congrats Kelly and Rich! Glad you two are parents....FINALLY.

5.  Pursued my passion to be creative.  Sales was never for me, so to finally have found a job that is exciting and fun everyday has been a true blessing.

"Not to sound biased, but she really is the best dog ever"- Coco Wilcox

Holly{our 14 year old family dog} had a stroke yesterday.  The vet let us take her home and told us to bring her back if over the next two weeks her symptoms remain or worsen.

It is such an awful thing to watch an animal experience any sort of pain or discomfort like that.

I am wishing for the best for our little Holly girl, but for now we are giving her lots of love, hugs and kisses!
